The Brionvega TS 505 (radio cubo) is the kind of radio that makes you understand why Brionvega became such an icon of postwar Italian design. Compact, graphic and unapologetically red, it feels less like a technical device and more like a piece of pop-modern furniture in miniature. The form is simple, almost architectural, with its rounded body, front speaker grid and clear analogue controls. But the real charm lies in the balance between function and attitude. It is playful without becoming decorative, practical without losing its personality, and unmistakably Italian in the way it turns an everyday object into something you actually want to look at. This Italia Red version carries that Brionvega spirit especially well. Bright, confident and collectible, it works beautifully on a shelf, bedside table, desk or kitchen counter. A radio for people who still believe that sound, buttons and objects with presence belong in the room. The radio is playing and working well. The antenna can be fully pulled out. A small plastic piece is missing near the hinge area, as shown in the images. Battery operated or 220V.

Marco Zanuso & Richard Sapper

Marco Zanuso (1916–2001) was one of Italy’s most influential industrial designers. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he worked with leading furniture and electronics brands and helped shape the modern domestic landscape with designs such as the Grillo telephone. For Zanuso, design meant considering every detail of production, often introducing new manufacturing methods and changing how objects were made. Richard Sapper (1932–2015) was one of the most important designers of his generation. Born in Germany and based in Italy, he worked across products, electronics, furniture, kitchen objects and transport, earning 11 Compasso d’Oro awards. His work is known for its simplicity, formal precision and technically sophisticated solutions hidden behind clean, timeless forms.
